Energy-based safety
We run it: facilitated workshops and VR
Explore complex situations and develop shared judgement with expert support.
- 4
VR workshops, one programme
- 90 to 180
minutes each
- 10 to 15
people per workshop
We come in and do everything: our facilitators, our headsets, the four VR workshops with your crews. The fastest way to prove EBS with a pilot group.
For you if
- You want a pilot with a real crew or a leadership cohort before deciding on a rollout.
- Your H&S team is stretched and cannot facilitate yet.
- You want senior leaders in the room with the people doing the work.
Not yet if
- You want to run it yourselves across sites: that is the licence, which certifies your trainers and ships a managed VR fleet.
The four workshops, every one with VR
- Workshop 1
Energy-based hazard recognition
Why crews miss hazards, the research behind it, and the Energy Wheel in practice. In VR, learners find the hazards on a working site. For frontline teams, supervisors and leaders.
- Workshop 2
High-energy hazards and Direct Controls
The threshold, the stuff that kills you, the 3Ts, then Strong and Forgiving. Two VR modules: judge three high-energy situations, then test the controls on a site.
- Workshop 3
High-energy control assessment
Why the assessment measures control effectiveness rather than compliance, and the principles: Targeted, Strong, Forgiving. For supervisors, H&S advisors and leaders.
- Workshop 4
Assessor calibration, consistency and communication
The assessment rules applied to simulated scenarios, with scores compared across assessors. Four VR mini modules, each scored.
What is included
- Headsets and setup
- We bring the kit, run the technology and pack down. Your site provides a room and the people.
- Debrief and next steps
- A written summary of what the group recognised, missed and decided, for the sponsor.
How it runs
- Scope the pilot. Who attends, which sites, which tasks the scenarios should echo. One call.
- Run the workshops. Four workshops of 90 to 180 minutes, grouped into half-day or full-day blocks, on site or remote, sequenced to fit shift patterns.
- Debrief the sponsor. What changed in the room, what to do next, and whether to take the licence and run it yourselves.
Questions
Can leaders and crews attend together?
Yes, and it is often the best room. Workshops 1 and 2 are written for frontline teams, supervisors and leaders together. Workshops 3 and 4 are pitched at supervisors, H&S advisors and leaders.
Do you deliver in Australia?
Yes. Remote delivery works with shipped or client-supplied headsets. On-site delivery is quoted by location.
Can scenarios reflect our environment?
The standard scenarios are construction. Other environments are built on request and quoted separately.
Groups of ten to fifteen so everyone works a scenario and nobody hides at the back.
